Ok so the other day I went to the kitchen to get myself a bread slice, I know some people don't like the top slice but I don't really care so I took it.
But then Nerine saw me do that and told me that I shouldn't grab the top slice of a bread loaf, because that part is the one that protects the rest of the slices from becoming stiff.
I said that's what the bag is for, we asked her mom to determine the answer from this dispute and she said she has heard of that but doesn't really know if it works or not.
I tried looking on the internet but found nothing about it, so I'm here to ask y'all, the top slice of a bread loaf is the one that prevents the rest of slices from becoming stiff, true or false?
(this slice right here)

i never eat it since everyone flips past that slice so it's the most touched slice

sounds about right, good thing I just eat it when the bread is brand new.
